Veterans Volunteers

Volunteers are needed and welcome to help at the Veterans Museum, at fundraising events in San Eli, and at our Annual Veterans Day Parade.

The volunteers would assist museum visitors and help with some light maintenance. During events, volunteers would help set up the Veterans' booths, handle sales, make popcorn and snow cones, etc. For the parade, volunteers help decorate the placita, and parade vehicles, set up chairs, collect litter, dispense water and event programs, and assist with other things as necessary.

Volunteering is ideal for students, retirees, and simply for those wanting to support San Elizario veterans and the community! Answer the call to service, and contact Ray Borrego via the Veterans Museum today. rborregosaneli@gmail.com or 915-851-0093 (call or text).

Veterans Committee

The Veterans Committee organizes, manages, coordinates and operates the Annual Veterans’ Day Parade, Veterans Museum, Memorial Brick Walk, Honor the Fallen of San Elizario, conducts fundraisers, and participates in community events that promote veterans. The committee shall encourage new membership, hold regular meetings, fundraise, sell brick memorials, and submit information to the newsletter. The committee is encouraged to participate with other area Veterans groups in honoring local deceased veterans.

The Eduardo Pedregon Veterans Memorial Museum commemorates the service men and women of San Elizario and the support and sacrifice of their families. San Elizario has a rich tradition of military service, with a high enlistment rate per capita. The museum includes photos of veterans grouped by family dating back to WWI.  Also featured are a Missing Man Table Display and the Memorial Brick Walk, with bricks available for purchase to pay tribute to service members from the community.  Learn how to purchase and dedicate a brick by calling the phone number below.
